Confessions of a Netflix-Obsessed Blogger: How I Struggle to Stay Productive"?
Summer break has been a blast so far! But let me tell you, my plans to work on my blog went totally out the window in the first few weeks. Instead, I indulged in some serious TV time and a few fun craft projects. However, my laziness caught up with me when I had to undergo surgery on my leg, which left me with nothing to do but wallow in self-pity and binge-watch a show that I didn't even like (but had to know how it ended!).
Luckily, my summer took a turn for the better when my family and I went camping without any Wi-Fi. I disconnected from technology for a while and had a blast, despite the scorching heat in the South. Now that I'm back and my leg is healing, I've realized that I need to start being more productive before I go back to work in two weeks.
That's why I've been working on a blog course and trying to figure out how to use email lists (I'm currently trying to master MailChimp). I just want to notify my followers when I post something new since, let's face it, I'm not exactly consistent!
But let me tell you about the highlight of my summer so far: the Canton Flea Market in Texas. It's the biggest flea market I've ever seen, and although it was boiling hot, it was totally worth it. I found a new crafting obsession called Chalk Couture, and I'm hooked! This company makes reusable screen print transfers, chalkboards, and washable chalk paste that you can use to create amazing signs and designs. It's a game-changer for me since I've struggled with traditional screen printing and even the freezer paper method.
Overall, summer break has been a rollercoaster ride of laziness, productivity, and unexpected discoveries. I can't wait to see what the next two weeks have in store before I head back to work.
