Chocolate makes everything better! Especially, the Easter kind!
This weekend is Easter. I love Easter for many reasons but because this is a crafting blog I am going to talk about Easter craft projects! My birthday was last week and because it is usually so close to Easter it has been the inspiration for many a party and gift! When I was a kid I use to get at least one bunny every year and sometimes more for my birthday. I don’t particularly have a great love for stuffed bunnies. I even got 2 real bunnies once for my birthday. They were super -cute but all they really do is eat, sleep and poop. One of them would bite you sooo it didn’t get out of its pen much. I had them for quite a while. They were kind of like having an animated stuffed animal. I love seeing all the cute Easter pictures my friends have taken of their kids with the lambs, bunnies, and baby chics. It makes for a very cute picture.
Since my birthday is typically so close to Easter and we like a craft in my family. My mom use to make these party favors for my birthday with strawberry baskets. You can’t really find the baskets so much anymore because strawberry’s come in plastic cartons. You can sometimes still find the strawberries in baskets but that’s mostly closer to summer and not the best time for Easter projects. You could save them from the Summer but my local grocery store sells local strawberries and they don’t come in baskets so anyway I found some on Amazon. It’s an easy craft. You fill the basket full of grass. You take a pipe cleaner and make a handle for the top. Then you fill it full of candy or little toys. Simple easy and kids love it. My mom usually made these for birthday parties. You could also make them for students if you are a teacher. They are really cheap and that’s always a requirement for any kind of school craft. If you have kids it would be a great project for you to make together. There isn’t anything particularly complicated about it. Here is a great version of it I found online.
The next project is an Easter candy project. I love Easter candy! I think it is by far my favorite holiday themed candy. The best are Cadbury Mini-Eggs and Reese peanut butter eggs. Now that they make both of these in white chocolate I just can’t seem to get enough of them. My sweet co-worker bought me some for my birthday. She bought me several individual sizes bags, which was great because I ate two of the regular size bags during Spring Break. Well I did share them with my brother but I ate way too many! I bought these the first time to make a recipe but then I had to rebuy them because I ate them all. Please, don’t judge me.

This recipe called for large shredded wheat biscuits but I couldn’t find them so I used unfrosted shredded mini-wheats. They were good but if you can find the big ones in your local grocery store I would say they are probably a lot easier.
Shredded wheat (large biscuit type) broken up
Hershey Chocolate, 2 lb.
Cadbury Mini-Eggs (I think M&M’s make something like this but these are my favorite.)
